Movie Report Wild Walls Climbing Gym, Spokane,...

The photographs on the previous page were taken at Wild Walls Climbing Gym in Spokane, Washington. Photo #1 exhibits a climber while on the rock wall, supporting his own weight. Photo #2 displays the system employed by rock climbers to stay safe in the case of a fall. Two photos were taken in order to compare the system while the climber is on the wall and ascending against when the climber has fallen off the wall and is hanging by the rope. In the sport of rock climbing, the goal is, obviously enough, to reach the top. In other words, the challenge is ultimately to surmount the force of gravity. The power to do this is generated by the climber’s muscles, but friction forces also play a key role in making the ascent up a rock face. These†¦show more content†¦The equation for gravitational potential energy near Earth’s surface is U = m*g*h (Walker 395). In this equation, m is the mass of the object in question, which in this case would be the climber. The value g corresponds to the value for gravitational acceleration, which for Earth is 9.81 m/s2, and h is the height of the climber relative to the ground. It is important to note that for consistency within the equation, m is expressed in units of kilograms and height is in meters. This way, when the units are combined we get the answer in terms of kg*m2/s2, which is equivalent to a Joule, the SI derived unit of energy (Walker 191). During a climber’s ascent, the only one of these variables that change is the height value; their mass and the value of g remain constant. There may ostensibly be a very slight exception to this for climbers that achieve extreme heights, as the value of g does change the further an object gets from the center of Earth, but for our purposes this change is negligible. As is clear by evaluating our expression, the height and gravitational potential energy are directly proportional. This means that as a climber reaches greater heights, their gravitational po tential energy also increases. As an example, imagine a climber whose mass including their gear was 75 kilograms. If this climber is 10 meters off of the ground, their gravitational potential energy is

`` True Freedom `` By Langston Hughes - 1163 Words

America is known as the land of the free, but is anyone really free? One might view freedom as abolished slavery, but true freedom gives one the ability to make choices and act on decisions. True freedom might be gained through lessons learned from history, from accomplishing and seeing dreams become reality, or from standing up for beliefs. Langston Hughes, an American poet known for his writing during the Harlem Renaissance period said, â€Å"In all my life, I have never been free. Each person, like a river has deep roots, perseverance, and a need for freedom and understanding. Rivers are confined by land as people are confined by laws, but just as rivers can change course, people can change society. Langston Hughes, like the rivers in The Negro Speaks of Rivers, preserved in the face of adversity as he forged new streams of thought. There are several surrounding changes are based on three different elements are following in nature (Nolan and Varey 2014). It is fall under one of the key ideas of SCT (ecological variable) is observational learning. In difference to prior behavioral speculations, SCT recognized that it is not only one that fortifies or rebuffs practices, yet it additionally gives a milieu where an individual can observe the activities o f others and assumed the outcomes of those practices. Forms overseeing observational learning included: Attentional: for picking up and looking after consideration Retention: for being recalled Production: for duplicating the watched conduct Motivational: for being empowered to create the conduct Other center parts of SCT included: Self-adequacy: for a judgment on an individuals capabilities to achieve a specific level of execution. Enactive learning: for achievement from the outcomes of an individuals activities comparison with various observational learning. Rule learning: initiated for creating and structuring several behavioral examples, regularly accomplished through secondary procedures and abilities through direct experience. The entire database will be collected and then summarized in graphical and tabular format (Brown and Stowers 2013). Then the statistical analysis will be done by using the SPSS software package. In order to analyze the qualitative data, deep observation will be required. Organization of the Study: The research study will be organized as the following structure. There will be five chapters in the final research paper. Chapter One: The first chapter of the research paper will be the introductory chapter. Chapter Four: The data collected for conducting the research study will be summarized and analyzed in this chapter. The findings of the research study will be compared with the theory and concepts found in the literature review section of the research study. Chapter Five: This will be the last chapter of the research paper, where the entire findings of the research study will be summarized to draw the conclusion of the whole research study. The objectives or the research questions has been declared in the chapter one will be compared to the findings of the research study. The different types of activities which require costs are posting/mailing, travelling, printing etc. These activities will cost around $2500. The calculations of the collected data will be done by using some software tools. Some money needs to be allocated for this purpose. The cost required for this activity is around $1000.
